Nagarkot, at an altitude of 2175 meters and is located 30 km north-east of capital city, Kathmandu. It is the second highest point on the valley rim, that offers you the great views of Himalayas, breathtaking mountain scenery and magnificent sunrise and sunset.
Among all the places for mountain viewing in the Kathmandu valley, Nagarkot is usually considered to be the best. Nagarkot has a 200-mile panorama of the Himalayas that extends from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. On a clear morning, one can see the tip of Mount Everest.
But… the rainy season… the monsoon time… didn’t let us to see those all realities…
Final of the Worldcup football … we have planned to go somewhere so that we can enjoy together. The place was fixed… The Beautiful Hill… Nagarkot…
Most of the people go up to Nagarkot in the afternoon, stay in a hotel in and then, get up at dawn to watch the early morning sunrise over the peaks. Once the sun begins to rise from behind the Himalayas, it looks spectacular as snow-covered mountain changes its color in shades of orange, brown, gold etc. July 11, Sunday… the college holiday… we started the trip at around 4 PM from College. 4 Bikers … 8 of us… We were hoping to get the sunset view but this monsoon didn’t let us. Fog and low clouds obscure the views like we have faced.
We reached the destination at around 6:30 PM, be fresh and started having good time… Boys started playing cards… I started playing with my phone… thanks to NTC GPRS… which showed me the world in my hands… Free of Cost… but I dont know the reason… may be that’s the world cup offer… hehehe
We had dinner at around 10 PM… and frens became busy again… I enjoyed cool darkness staying on top… I was planning to count stars but dark cloud didn’t let me :p … I waited till 12 Noon but didn’t get success… My plan failed… 🙁
After that I moved to downstairs to watch the World-cup Final Match … Spain Vs. Holland… I was supporting Spain… Also had a bet with a friend… First half was not impressive… Foul & Fall but no Goal… 0 – 0 till the half… After the half I went to the room to update my friends… they were not giving that much of interest towards the football… I went back after a while… Second half was a bit better with good moves, and chances but only misses at last… Goal less till the end of 90 mins…
The game was becoming much better and was going towards exciting moments… Question in everyone’s mind… “Can 30 added mins. make different?” or “It will move to the final option of penalty shootout?” First 15 mins gone but still goaless… Exciting 15 minutes, chances at both ends there, but Spain are knocking loudest. Robben try to do his best… the Dutch defence was looking pretty tired…
Second 15 mins. . .
– 109 mins ‘Johnny Heitinga’ Dutch player sees his seonod yellow and he goes off. After that great shooting chance for Spain but can’t made it…
– 117 mins ‘Iniesta’ {Spain} blasts from the right side. Holland had chances to clear, but their tired legs didn’t let them… Fabregas collects from a deflection at the edge of the area, slides it through to ‘Iniesta’ on the right side, he powers it into the net past the keeper. GOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL
Spain 1 – 0 Netherlands
It’s all over. Spain are the World Champions after a late, late winner from Andres Iniesta taking advantage of a tired, Dutch defense.
This was the time for Africa… but now it’s all over for 4 Years… We will always remember the Columbian Star with Waka Waka … and K’Naan with Waving Flag… Bye Bye Africa… Its now time for BRAZIL to HOST & to WIN … 🙂 … Welcome #2014
