    What is Coronavirus?

Novel Coronavirus is a virus identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China.

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Initially, the patients in the outbreak area reportedly had some link to a large seafood and animal market, suggesting animal-to-person spread.

But nowadays, a growing number of patients reportedly have not had exposure to animal markets, indicating person-to-person spread is occurring.

The name coronavirus is derived from the Latin word ‘corona’, which means “crown” that refers to the characteristic appearance reminiscent of a crown.

How can a person be infected?

Respiratory droplets and close contact: When an infected person sneeze or cough, s/he sends out droplets of fluid from nose and mouth. Those droplets can carry infections, and when they enter someone else’s enter the eyes, nose or mouth, the infection can make them sick.

A person can get COVID19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

The virus that causes COVID19 seems to be spreading easily and sustainably in the community.

    What are the symptoms?

Respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.

Those with weakened immune systems may develop more serious symptoms, like pneumonia or bronchitis.

    Coronavirus Incubation Period: 2 – 14 days

    How to prevent it?

Try to avoid people who are sick or meeting in large groups. Cover your cough with a tissue or cough into your upper sleeve or elbow. Do not cough into your hands.

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing. Stay more than 6 feet away from a person who is showing a similar symptom.

    Thoroughly cook meat and eggs.

Avoid traveling to countries or areas that have been affected by the Coronavirus.

What should you do if you just got back from affected countries?

Self-quarantine yourself (or in the government-managed area) at least for 14 days and watch your health.

If you develop any of the coronavirus symptoms seek medical care right away.

    AVOID public gathering.

  • Heart Attacks And Drinking Warm Water

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this ‘sludge’ reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
